The product

One place to discover events across Serbia

Afisha.rs helps Russian-speaking residents and visitors discover concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, children’s activities and other events across Serbia.

We developed it as an independent digital business with its own product, audience, content operations and monetisation model.

The objective

Build the product, audience and revenue model from the ground up

The objective was to create a sustainable events platform: collect and organise information about events, make it easy to search and explore, attract a relevant audience and turn user attention into a working business model.

01

Design a clear and convenient structure for discovering events.

02

Create reliable processes for collecting, processing, categorising and publishing event information.

03

Build search visibility and attract a relevant audience from the earliest stages of the project.

04

Develop commercial formats and a sustainable monetisation model.

The solution

Product, content and growth developed together

Technology and commercial development progressed in parallel. Each product iteration was evaluated by how it affected audience growth, usability and revenue.

01

Product

We designed the platform architecture and the complete user journey — from discovering an event to making a decision.

02

Content model

We created a system for collecting, preparing, categorising and publishing information about events.

03

SEO & Growth

We developed the search architecture, expanded organic visibility and built recurring audience acquisition.

04

Revenue

We launched monetisation and continued developing commercial formats alongside the growth of the audience.

UDM’s own product

We invested in the product ourselves

Afisha.rs is not a client project. UDM financed, built and developed it as an independent digital business.

Every decision directly affected our own investment, operating costs, audience and revenue. This required us to evaluate technology, SEO, content and growth decisions by their real commercial impact.

We do not only advise clients on growth. We build and grow our own digital products too.

The result

What Afisha.rs achieved within its first six months

#1 in Serbia’s Russian-language events segment. Afisha.rs became the country’s leading events website for Russian-speaking audiences.

Top 3 by total category traffic. The new platform entered the three most visited events websites in Serbia.

2× month-over-month revenue growth. The commercial model developed together with the audience and gained momentum as the product grew.

A complete operating system within UDM. Technology, content, SEO, audience growth and monetisation worked as connected parts of one product.

Why it worked

Every part of the product supported the same business objective

The platform was designed around the way users search for and choose events. The content model provided structured, regularly updated information. SEO connected this information with existing search demand. Analytics showed how people discovered and used the service. Commercial formats developed alongside audience growth rather than being added after the product had already been built.

What this experience means for clients

We approach digital projects as businesses, not collections of features

Creating Afisha.rs gave us direct experience in making product decisions with our own investment at risk.

We understand the connection between development costs, speed to market, organic acquisition, content operations, user behaviour and revenue. We apply this experience when creating and developing websites, e-commerce platforms and other digital products for our clients.

Next step

Build and launch a digital product with a measurable business model

We connect product architecture, technology, content, audience acquisition, analytics and monetisation within one system.
